Oikeiôsis and Role Ethics

This session explores the often misunderstood communal heart of Stoic philosophy through three interconnected concepts: Oikeiosis (our natural development from self-concern to universal concern), Hierocles' Circle of Concern (expanding our care from self to all humanity), and Role Ethics (our duties as social beings with multiple responsibilities).

Contrary to popular misconceptions that present Stoicism as a philosophy of detached individualism, we'll examine how the ancient Stoics viewed human flourishing as fundamentally connected to the common good.

Location: Suite 53, 102 Railway Street, West Perth. City West Centre, north of the Licencing Centre.
